What counts as an image on Instagram?

When we say "image," we're talking about any still visual content on the platform. That includes regular photo posts, graphics, screenshots, memes, and individual slides from carousel posts. If it's not a video or a Reel, it's an image, and you can grab it here.

How resolution works

Instagram compresses everything that gets uploaded. The maximum resolution you'll typically get is 1080x1350 pixels for portrait images and 1080x1080 for square ones. Landscape images cap out at 1080x566. Our tool fetches the largest version Instagram stores on its servers, so you're getting the best quality that exists after upload compression.

Downloading from carousel posts

Carousel posts can contain up to 20 slides mixing photos and videos. When you paste a carousel post link, we'll detect all the slides and let you download each image individually. You won't need to grab the whole set if you only want one specific slide.
