Carousel posts are those swipeable multi-slide posts on Instagram. A single carousel can hold up to 20 slides, and each one can be either a photo or a video. This tool lets you download any or all slides from a public carousel post.

What exactly is a carousel?

If you've seen a post with small dots at the bottom indicating multiple pages, that's a carousel. Creators use them for photo dumps, tutorials broken into steps, before-and-after comparisons, storytelling, and plenty more. Instagram introduced them years ago and they've become one of the most popular post formats on the platform.

Downloading individual slides

Mixed content carousels

Here's something a lot of tools get wrong: carousels can mix photos and videos in the same post. Slide one might be a photo, slide two a video, slide three another photo. Our tool handles both content types correctly. Photos download as JPEG files and videos as MP4 files.

A note on quality

Each slide is downloaded at the resolution Instagram stores it. For photos, that's up to 1080 pixels wide. For videos, typically 720p or 1080p depending on what was uploaded. You're getting the same version that plays in the Instagram app.
