Getting the story link

This part can be confusing. Instagram doesn't make it obvious how to copy a story link. On mobile, open the story and tap the three-dot menu, then select "Copy Link." On desktop, right-click isn't reliable. The easiest method is using the mobile app.

Limitations to be aware of

This only works with public accounts. Private account stories aren't accessible without being a follower. Stories that have already expired can't be recovered. If the story was posted more than 24 hours ago and isn't saved to a Highlight, it's gone. You also download one story frame at a time, not an entire story sequence in one click.
