What does DP mean?

DP stands for "display picture," a term widely used in South Asia and parts of the Middle East to describe a profile photo. Why you can't just zoom in

Instagram shows profile pictures as tiny circles, around 150x150 pixels in the app. Tapping on them gives you a slightly larger preview, but it's still nowhere near the full resolution.
