How to get a Reel's URL

Finding the link to a Reel is straightforward. Open the Reel in the Instagram app, tap the three dots or the share button (paper airplane icon), and select "Copy Link." On desktop, right-click the Reel or click the three dots and copy the URL from your browser's address bar. Either way, you'll end up with a URL that looks something like instagram.com/reel/ABC123.

Reel format and quality

Reels are shot vertically at a 9:16 aspect ratio. Instagram stores them in MP4 format, usually at 720p or 1080p depending on how the creator uploaded it. Some Reels recorded directly in the Instagram app might be capped at 720p, while ones uploaded from a camera or editing app can hit 1080p. You'll get whichever version Instagram has on their servers.
